I have added the new government of 12 May 2024, the first without a member of the National Assembly since the government of April 1991.

Day 7 of registration
By my count, 35 incumbents have registered by day 7 of registration.
Days 4, 5 and 6
Candidates who registered on days 4, 5 and 6 are up. Most incumbents have declared that they will run again in this election.
Elections!
And…new elections, ten months after the last elections. I’ve added the candidates who registered in the first three days of registration.
New Government
Only two members of the ruling family, plus the prime minister, are in the government. Only the prime minister is from the Mubarak branch of the family. No member of the Jabir branch is in the government. More generally, most members are new to their posts, which is not too surprising given that Kuwait has a new emir. But this increases the amount of churn in ministerial posts. There have been 10 ministers of finance over the past 10 years.
Minister of Public Works Resigns
The minister faced two interpellations and resigned shortly before the start of the new session of the National Assembly. This is the third minister to resign from the government formed in August.
Minister of Finance Resigns
He resigned yesterday, for reasons that are not clear.
New government
I’ve added the new government, with Ahmad al-Fahad (!)
Results update
I’ve updated the 2023 elections with the official results for the winners from KUNA. All other results are unofficial, from al-Anba. If anyone has official results for the remaining candidates, let me know. KUNA said that there were 207 candidates – I have results for 206, so one is missing.
Unofficial results
I’ve added the unofficial results, from al-Anba. (And thanks to al-Anba for reporting the full results, and with the full name of the candidates as they appear on the ballot!)
